As a parent, one of the scariest times is when your teen starts driving. Even if you trust your teen, know they are a safe driver, and that they will follow the rules, you can’t account for other drivers on the road. Teen drivers are almost 4 times more likely to get in a car crash than drivers 20 years and older, according to the Insurance Insitute of Highway Safety (IIHS).

Although this is a frightening statistic, trying to keep your teenager off the road forever may be unrealistic. Furthermore, there are ways that you as a parent can ensure, as best as you can, that your teen is driving safely.
