Saving Fuel With LiveViewGPS’ Fleet Tracking systems

Vehicle Speeds: Gas mileage will decrease rapidly after 60 miles per hour. Assuming fuel prices are at $3.85 per gallon – for every 5 miles per hour driven over 60 – you are paying an extra $0.24 cents per gallon.
Solution: Monitor speeds of all vehicles with speed threshold alerts – get notified and see reporting that tells you when and where the speed thresholds were exceeded and for how long.
Engine Idling: Idling engines burn fuel, in fact for every hour an engine idles – you can expect to pay for one gallon of fuel.
Solution: Idle reports – see with precise detail when where and how long each and every vehicle was idling.
Off Route Driving. A driver who decides to eat lunch at their favorite restaurant clear across town, may not be have the companies best interest in mind when trying to conserve fuel. For this reason alone, it is important to spot check drivers routes when you suspect something is amiss.
Solution(s): Monitor live. Zone alerts. Historical playback. Stop/Start reports.
Obviously, if you are watching vehicles live, you’ll be able to immediately identify the infraction. However, if you can’t afford to be monitoring the system all the time these key reports will give you a clear picture of what your drivers are doing:
Stop/Start Reports – See where they stopped and for how long Identified a problem? Use historical playback to view the exact route driven, points are transmitted every 10 seconds, so you will see exactly where the vehicles have been.
Zone Alerts, are a more proactive approach. Get alerted when your vehicles leave or enter geographical boundaries that you set.
These three areas are great tools that you can use to reduce fuel expenses, improve productivity and increase profits.
