Injured bald eagle found in Virginia is being tracked with GPS during rehabilitation.
Earlier this summer at the Westlake Golf Course, a young bald eagle was found extremely sick and malnourished. She was immediately taken to the Wildlife center of Virginia where caretakers began taking care of her.
She is now looking much healthier and is starting to fly on her own; something she was unable to do before. Researchers at the wildlife center feel confident that she will make a full recovery. She will also be returned to Smith Mountain Lake, according to Amanda Nicholson, the wildlife center’s director of outreach.
This rehabilitated bald eagle is now being tracked with a GPS tracking device in order to monitor her movements, behavior, and flight patterns when she is finally released. Read the rest of this entry »

Those who work in emergency services know better than anyone the huge role ambulance response times can play in a life or death situation. When someone is in danger, when their life is on the line, every minute matters when it comes to the response of medical teams.
From the time a call is placed to 911, the first response medical team is on the clock. Finding the fastest route and arriving on the scene as quickly as possible could make all the difference in whether a patient lives or dies.
Because of this, more cities are relying on GPS fleet tracking technology as a means of cutting ambulance response times in emergency situations. Advancements in technology are believed to be the key in improving these response times and improving the outcomes of emergency situations.
Jersey City, for instance, already has an average six minute ambulance response time, one of the fastest in the country. Still, they believe the use of gps tracking technology will play a role in cutting that time in half, and saving more lives as a result. Read the rest of this entry »

Minimizing Purse and Wallet Theft
27 Oct 2015Handbags and wallets today can be quite an investment in their own rights. Add the value of the items you carry inside them and the hassle of cancelling credit cards and credit monitoring services to protect your identity and your good credit and the costs of purse or wallet theft become even greater. These tips will help you reduce your risks of having your wallet or purse stolen.
Carry Your Purse Close to and In Front of Your Body
Consider using a cross-body style purse that is more difficult for thieves to cut the strap and run with. Also wear your purse under your coat in winter months. Most purse thieves, unless they are specifically targeting you, are thieves of opportunity looking for convenient target. Every layer of difficulty you add to the process reduces your risks of becoming a victim.
Be Aware of What’s Going on Around You
Notice the landscape, the people, and the number of people if they seem to be congregated in a group. Is there a place that’s poorly lit or may provide cover for a thief to hide ad ambush you? Don’t forget to pay attention to your own comfort level, too. If you feel uncomfortable change your path or walk into a store or restaurant that has a lot of customers. Read the rest of this entry »

Many people think of GPS fleet tracking as something designed for fleets that travel long distances or even cross country. Business owners operating local fleets often overlook the treasure trove of benefits a good fleet tracking system has to offer. While dollars and cents benefits of saving on through-the-roof fuel costs are often benefit enough to make local transport companies consider GPS fleet tracking, the benefits below provide a nice thick layer of icing on the cake.
Better Resource Management
This isn’t isolated to one particular resource. Instead it involves them all. It’s easier to track trucks, people, cargo, and fuel costs. You get easy access to information about all these things while your trucks are in motion. This means, that through the use of GPS fleet tracking, you can divert trucks for emergency pickups or drop offs, to change routes in light of traffic jams ahead, and to determine quickly and efficiently if a truck is too far away to make it worthwhile to call back for items that were left off or send these items on a later delivery run.
