Iphone App That Can Save Thousands On Toll Calls
7 Jun 2011Was talking with a customer today on the phone, he was in London – and he mentioned how he was using an Iphone app called Viber – which has saved his company, thousands of dollars in toll calls.
I downloaded the app – and gave it a shot. Installation is straight forward – you enter your phone number, and Viber sends you an SMS that you use to authenticate your phone. Easy enough.
What impressed me where the features of the phone and the integration the developers of this application used. The app does not need to be open to receive phone calls – pretty cool. So it uses VOIP data for the calls, not sure how much data is used for an average call – if you are on a connected wi-fi network – guess it really doesn’t matter.
