The PT-10 Battery Life
6 Nov 2009The PT-10 GPS tracker is available in 3 Models: All models feature 10 second position updates over 10 miles per hour, or every 20′ under 10 mph. Full reporting, live viewing from any web enabled computer – watch it move across your computer screen, get alerted when it enters/exits zones, etc.
We have seen some exagerrated claims on battery life of GPS trackers – We are not sure how companies get away with their claims. Anyways, back to the PT unit…
The PT-10 is equipped with a motion sensor, that turns on when moving and off, when stopped for more than one minute and thirty seconds. Since we transmit positions so often, there is no need to really PING or locate the device on demand.
Standard: Internal rechargeable 1340 mAh battery, lasts approximately 8 hours of drive-time, or while moving. Magnetic mount case is included for covert use.
Professional: External rechargeable 9200 mAh Lithium Polymer battery, lasts approximately 60 hours of drive-time, or while moving. Magnetic mount case is included for covert use.
Extended: External rechargeable 17,000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery, lasts approximately 130 hours of drive-time, or while moving. Magnetic mount case is included for covert use, this case and battery are about 2 inches larger than the standard and pro.
A vehicle that moves 1 hr per day – will last 8 days with the standard battery, 60 days with the Pro and about 130 days with the extended battery!
There you have it!
