150 pounds of stashed marijuana found by police in a suspect’s car has been thrown out as evidence.

U.S. District federal judge Amul R. Thapar ruled that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) illegally installed a GPS tracker on 49-year old Kentucky man’s, Dale Lee, car. As a result, marijuana found in the car was deemed inadmissible as evidence and prosecutors won’t be able to use the marijuana in the case, according to the judge.

Upon placing the GPS tracker on Lee’s vehicle, the DEA began tracking his movements. Lee was tracked traveling from Chicago, then back to Kentucky. When the DEA notified the Kentucky State Police of Lee’s travels, a Kentucky State Police trooper stopped Lee on his way back from Chicago. What No GPS Tracker Device?

If you are a foodie, then you’re probably familiar with the dude with the extremely blond spiked hair that drives around all over the world visiting Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, on his show of the same name on The Food Network. Yes, I’m talking about Guy Fieri, restaurateur, best-selling author, and famous celebrity chef.

Besides being a lover of food, Guy loves collecting classic cars, including the 1968 red Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible that is featured on his Food Network show. He was also a proud owner of a bright-yellow Lamborghini Spyder Gallardo worth around $200,000. That is, until March of 2011 when his beloved car was stolen from British Motor Car Distributors, a San Francisco car dealership.

Space is getting more crowded with satellites. On April 30th, 2012, China completed a successful launch of two navigation satellites, which become satellites number twelve and thirteen of its rapidly expanding Compass Navigation Satellite System — the country’s second generation satellite navigation system.

Last March, China announced an aggressive goal to place 100 satellites in space by the year 2015, with the hopes to end its reliance on the United States operated Global Positioning System. If China’s global satellite coverage goal is achieved, China will be the third country — in addition to the United States (GPS) and Russia (GLONASS) — to have its own satellite GPS navigation system. They will be decades behind United States and Russia in doing so.

Last year, China launched 19 satellites, which surpassed United States 18 satellites by one. Still, Russia was tops last year by a long shot in its launching of thirty six satellites. Read the rest of this entry »
