GPS Tracking Reporting Data
30 Nov 2011So what can you do with gps tracking data?
On a basic level we can tell you where your vehicle or asset is, or where it has been. We are able to tell you where it stopped and for how long. We can even playback a historical route on a map, as you watch your vehicle move across your screen. But, what if you want to analyze data further?
LiveViewGPS has the capabilities to develop any type of customized reporting module using gps tracking data.
What is GPS tracking data? Typical gps data from a tracker will include date, time, lat/long, velocity and heading. Other common parameters include ignition state (on/off).
For example, a client wanted a specific report that went above and beyond standard reports offered. We delivered to the customer a comprehensive report that analyzed their technician’s daily activity at over 2000 service locations. The specific reporting included each technician’s daily start time, time spent on site at service locations, time spent at locations other than service locations, as well as the percent of time spent driving throughout the day. The report showed daily totals for every one of their 145 technicians.
This one report, gave management at this organization a very concise snapshot of how their employees were spending their days.
Another example of gps data customization is the development of a GPS data plotter. Customers are able to plot locations, playback multiple devices simultaneously as well as get street views of locations and store notes at locations along the route. Clients are able to save, print and export routes.
