Wow! TomTom Australia is planning on selling GPS data it collected about their customer’s routes to traffic enforcement agencies and private companies in Australia. TomTom rejected the privacy concerns, by saying something to the effect that although they were in fact collecting real-time gps data, the individual user’s information was removed from the data. The data was useful only when taken as a whole and not on an individual basis.<\/p>\n
So, the logic goes like this: TomTom sells a customer a device, who uses it to navigate around town. In fact they sell thousands of devices, and collect mountains of information. They then take the customers information and SELL it to whoever they want?<\/p>\n
Does anyone else have a problem with this?<\/p>\n
TomTom, you should know the difference between what’s right and wrong, we all learned this along time ago. Selling out your customer base to increase your corporate profits – is definitely not the right thing to do…In fact, I am sure of it, your competitor’s like Garmin, who say they don’t operate in this manner – are jumping for joy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
