The PT-10 will come with either two or three components depending on the version you purchased, which include PT-10, magnetic mount case, and extended battery (if purchased). If you did purchase the PT-10 PRO, PT-10 PRO PLUS, or PT100 you must first remove the belt clip from the back of the tracking device by pulling the tab at the top of the belt clip away from the unit and sliding the clip up and off of the tracking device. After this is done use the included hex key to remove the screw on the back of the device, this will allow you to take the back cover off of the unit. You should now see a small internal battery pull this battery out and set this to the side. All you have to do now is insert the adapter on the extended battery into this space.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: verdana;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: verdana;\">Here is the most important part, when placing your tracking device into the magnetic mount case make sure to put the extended battery in first closest to the magnet then place the device on top of the battery with the flat side facing up. If you just purchased the PT-10 all you need to do is place the unit in the magnetic mount case clip side down towards the magnet.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The second thing we are going to discuss is the placement of the device either inside or underneath the vehicle. When it comes to covert placement every vehicle is different, what you have to remember is that GPS signal does not travel through metal. This means when placing this unit under the seat of one truck my work fine while placing it in the same spot of another vehicle may not work.<\/p>\n<p>Simply moving the gps tracking device to a different area will allow you to find that perfect spot in your vehicle. The last thing you need to remember when placing this device inside a vehicle is to make sure the magnet side is facing down towards the floor. When placing this device outside of a vehicle you want to make sure the unit is towards the back with the magnet securely attached to a piece of steel . In this case you will want the magnet facing up towards the car, so the device can receive the GPS signal that\u2019s being bounced off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The final step in covert tracking is the monitoring of the device. By now you have set the device up, found a good secure spot to place it, and are ready find out where it goes.
