Finding the fastest route and arriving on the scene as quickly as possible could make all the difference in whether a patient lives or dies.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, more cities are relying on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveviewgps.com\/fleet+tracking.html\">GPS fleet tracking technology<\/a> as a means of cutting ambulance response times in emergency situations. There are two big ways GPS has been found to help first response medical teams to arrive on scene faster than ever before:<\/p>\n<p><strong>#1. Locating the closest emergency vehicle: <\/strong>In situations where GPS tracking\u00a0\u00a0 technology is not being used, a 911 call is routed by dispatchers to the usual ambulance hub for that county. However, with the use of GPS tracking technologies, dispatchers can locate the closest ambulance to the scene, allowing officials to respond quickly to the emergency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#2. Providing accurate directions to the scene: <\/strong>Many emergency officials have previously relied on memory to drive the ambulance to the scene of the emergency. Through the use of GPS tracking technology, drivers can now use the most accurate and up to date directions to avoid detours, construction, or traffic, and arrive on scene quicker than before.<\/p>\n<p>Today, many counties are involved in trial runs with GPS tracking technology software in hopes of improving response times through real-time tracking of emergency vehicles through locating the closest emergency vehicle and getting the quickest route to the scene.
