I have had many people ask me if they should get a real time GPS tracking device or a GPS Logger.\u00a0 In order to answer this question, it is important to make sure to understand the difference between the two.\u00a0 While they do have some distinct similarities, they are two completely different devices.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can then go to a web based system, log in and you will be able to find the exact location within seconds.\u00a0 These systems can also be programmed to alert you when the device has left an area or various other setting (in the case of vehicles, speed, arriving and leaving a destination) which will keep you apprised of where your device is at all times.\u00a0 It is a simple, yet effective way to know where things are anytime, anywhere across the globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The GPS Logger (better know as the GPS Track Stick) is another option in GPS.\u00a0 Much like the real time GPS tracking devices, the logger works anywhere there is a satellite signal.\u00a0 This means that it is able to be used world wide. The biggest difference between the two devices is that with the GPS Track Stick you will not know any information about where the Stick has been unless you have the device.\u00a0 Once you retrieve the device you can download exactly where the Tracking Stick has been.\u00a0 The data provided gives you the exact date, times, latitudes, longitudes, direction of travel, altitudes and speed.\u00a0 It will tell you exactly if the GPS Track Stick stopped and for how long.\u00a0 This system does not keep track in real time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
You can still get information about where anyone or anything that you have the device on is at all times, but not until you download the data.\u00a0 It is a great way to keep track of things like time and distance for runners, for parents a way to know exactly where your children have been during the day and if you are an employer, you can monitor those employees who are on the road by where they go and how fast they are moving.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So to answer the question which is better, The GPS Track Stick is a great little device for those who don\u2019t need to know right away where there things are.\u00a0 It is much cheaper then purchasing a Real Time GPS tracking device and there are no monthly fees associated with it.\u00a0 If you need real time information about your employees, kids or vehicles then the better way to go is to purchase a Real Time GPS Tracking Device with the monthly service.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
