{"id":11,"date":"2008-03-03T09:20:35","date_gmt":"2008-03-03T17:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveviewgps.com\/blog\/?p=11"},"modified":"2010-04-20T08:15:53","modified_gmt":"2010-04-20T16:15:53","slug":"the-dewalt-ds500-personal-property-protection-alarm-gps-locater","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.liveviewgps.com\/blog\/the-dewalt-ds500-personal-property-protection-alarm-gps-locater\/","title":{"rendered":"The DeWalt DS500: Personal Property Protection Alarm, GPS Locater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not just your average GPS tracking device, the DeWalt DS500 is one of the most innovative wireless GPS systems on the market today.\u00a0 It is designed to monitor your most valuable assets wherever they may be.\u00a0 This is because the DeWalt DS500 uses the MOBILELOCK system for monitoring allowing for protection of personal property as well as job related property.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 290px; height: 268px;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.liveviewgps.com\/images\/product\/access\/660_DS500_2.jpg?resize=500%2C500&#038;ssl=1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"DeWalt DS500 Mobilelock\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>No other GPS tracking device on the market today has features like the DeWalt DS500.\u00a0 It is a small device that is virtually tamperproof.\u00a0 There are no distinct buttons or ways for a would be thief to turn off this system.\u00a0 In fact, in looking at the device, the only external markings are the heavy duty magnets that allow for mounting of the device onto a metal surface.\u00a0 There is no way that anyone will be able to disable the DeWalt DS500 unless they have access to the MOBILELOCK system where the unit was set up.<\/p>\n<p>Once set up through the MOBILELOCK system by way of computer or telephone, you will be able to activate unique features that will aid in protecting your property.\u00a0 You will also get to choose up to three different contacts when there is an alert. \u00a0These alerts can be either via your phone or an e-mail.\u00a0 It is important to remember that if you are going to set up notification through an e-mail to make sure that there will be someone at all times able to access e-mails as soon as they come in.<\/p>\n<p>There are several distinct sensors that you will be instructed to set up should you feel that you need them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Door Contact,<\/li>\n<li>Vibration Sensor<\/li>\n<li>Tamper Sensor<\/li>\n<li>Temperature Sensor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So you are probably asking what is so special about these features.\u00a0 Let us look at each one in turn.\u00a0 First there is the Door Contact sensor.\u00a0 This is exactly what it says that it is.\u00a0 It is a way to attach the unit with a magnetic door contact strip to a door that you want secured (say a garage door or a job site trailer door for examples).\u00a0 This will alert you when someone opens the door.\u00a0 It will also sound a very loud alarm which would probably do one of two things, scare off the potential thief or cause them to try to tamper with the unit.\u00a0 The second special feature is the Tamper Sensor.\u00a0 This will again alert you that the unit itself is being tampered with.\u00a0 If the alarm is going off, then chances are that a would be thief is definitely trying to get the thing to shut off.\u00a0 Another special feature is the Vibration Sensor.\u00a0 The vibration sensor will detect any movement of any heavy equipment or any vibrations along a metal object. Once the vibration sensor is set, any and all vibrations in and around the unit will cause it to send an alert.\u00a0 While this can be a nice feature, you will have to determine the correct sensitivity for your particular needs otherwise it has the potential of sending you a barrage of false alarms. The fourth feature is called the Temperature Sensor.\u00a0 This feature allows you to go in and set up a temperature range to monitor.\u00a0 If the temperature should go out of that range in either direction, you will receive an alert.\u00a0 Keep in mind however that this is not in any way a substitute for a fire alarm.<\/p>\n<p>Some other great features that the DeWalt DS500 has to
