What is GPRS and how is it used with GPS Tracking Devices.
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008No, there is not a new technology out there on the market. GPS Tracking & GPRS, or General Packet Radio Services has been around for quite some time. Established in the early 2000’s, GPRS is an extension of the Global System for Mobile Communications. This means that it uses the same system as cellular phones. GPRS has been called the 2.5 G system. This is because it was developed after the 2G cellular networks and before the 3G systems that are currently showing up on the market today. GPRS is still widely used across the globe today.
